For My Western Decor Loving Readers

The next time you run across an old fold-up wooden ironing board, here's a fairly fun NON-IRONING way to put it to use:
Stand it up and turn it into a portable beverage bar.
I use pairs of cowboy boots to safely transport favorite bottles of chilled water and red wine, plus glassware. I also decorate the bar with the boots, tucking in flowers, napkins, etc.
When folded flat, the ironing board fits behind the seat of my half-ton Ford pickup, and it'd fit just fine in the rear cargo area of most SUVs or bigger cars. And it's way cuter (in my opinion) than anything plastic and portable from China.
I admit that Ed looked at me sideways when he saw me packing an ironing board for my last couple of camping trips. ("You IRON when you're camping?!"...you can just hear a guy thinking this, right?)
Nope, just putting a little ingenuity to work in a Western way.

What a fabulous use for old cowboy boots! Love it.
That's an excellent idea!
Love this idea. Is the bottle of wine on your ironing board a cab called The Show?
It looks like a bucking bronco on the label. If this is the wine, how is it? thanks, Michle
I like the red cabernet in this line quite a lot.The label is inspired by letterpress posters by Hatch Show Print.
The wine is bottled by Rebel Wine, St. Helena, Napa County, CA.
I got the first bottle as a gift and have bought several more since.

I love the idea of boots as wine bottle holders! I'm going to have to steal this idea -- perfect for my cowgirl friend's upcoming bachelorette party I'm hosting! Some pink boots would go with our camo and pink theme! (She's quite the outdoors woman.)
I couldn't agree with you more...ingenuity & creativity...I love that you not only "re-purpose" but that everything has a function..ie:boot to protect bottles when transporting & yet be a vase afterwards.
I can just see a sweet apron hanging from your ironing board, with a few sweet flowers peeking out from the pocket or the pocket could be a place to put the wine corks after the bottle is/are empty.
Thanx for sharing your wonderful creativeness...
