What Does YOUR Trip to the Barn Look Like Today?

Here's mine...with another foot of snow said to be on the way.

And did I mention it is 2 degrees, with a wind? So much for my notion of going on a snow-ride today--I am not that masochistic!

It was 75 degrees and somewhat overcast today. Supposed to be in the low 50's Monday & Tuesday, then go back up to the 60's. How do you ever get used to that snow? Here in middle Georgia, you can ride 360 days a year. We have wihite sand for dirt instead of the red Georgia clay, so no mud either.

This cold storm thingy came in about two days ago from Canada... and it still hasn't left! I HAD to go take care of my horse today(she's boarded), because the weatherman says there's no chance of driving tomorrow! And ohhhh boy was it a mess!
The little piles of poop that didn't make it all the way to the manure pile were frozen over, so i could just walk right on top of them to dump my poop (that's a god thing!)
The ponies at work today were (I work at another horse stable) covered in snow and ice.
I practically froze my butt off, too, because it rarely gets this cold here, and I don't have that warm of clothes.
Then my mom wouldn't let me stay long enought to ride, which made me sad because there was so much beautiful snow and I wanted to throw hoof boots on my horse and ride her through the snow so badly!
But yeah...
That's Washington for you!

We're caught in the Washington snow too - lovely to look at, but since we board about 10 miles away, we've got no chance of getting to the barn for a few days. Makes me appreciate having an excellent, devoted barn manager... who lives ON-SITE! I know my guy is well-cared-for and warm, even if I can't get out there personally for a while.

It looks pretty much the same here - same temp even. Brr. I braved the drive to the barn today to meet the farrier. Our (wonderful) farrier is better than the postal service - through snow and rain he always arrives. :-)

I am so fortunate that my horses and other critters are 27 feet from my front door during the winter. Here in Alaska today it is sunny, warm at 10F and there is about 18" of snow where it hasn't been plowed or packed down. Days like today make it worthwhile to put up with 40 degrees below zero in February.

UGH! Glad I live in California! How on earth do you do it?

We got another winter storm last night with another 6" of snow. The temp today was suppose to be
-45 with the wind chill. It is way too cold for me. Good thing I do chores in summer and Hubby does them in the winter. tonight is suppose to be -20 to -25 without the wind chill. Got to love MN!

Little Ranger is going to get lost in all that snow! Not much snow here in Denver still. We went house hunting again today--I'm getting really tired of this!

It was 70 degrees Saturday; in the 30s Sunday; high 35 today; then back up to the high 60s and 70s by the end of the week. That winter in Mississippi.

Now that doesn't look like much fun at all. I'm still picturing that pass in my mind... with that much snow.
And the shoveling... I don't envy you girl!!!

No snow, just tumbleweeds so high and deep you couldn't get into feed. Wind backed off and is very pleasant today.

Well, the first poster beat me to it. I just got back after dark, from a ride (a VERY wonderful ride, BTW) in shirt sleeves, after applying flyspray to eliminate mosquitos. buh wah wah wah. I love Florida.

Very cold... frost on the ground which is not fun in CA. Probably just around 32 when I stepped outside at 6am. You'd almost expect snow.
