Remember Mister, the Raffle Horse? An Update
Last Friday, I was on hand to witness the drawing of the winning ticket for Mister. It belonged to Klaus and Jeanne Lueppen of Attica, Michigan, who purchased tickets on more than one occasion throughout the raffle period.
I'm glad I was there to see the drawing with my own eyes, or I wouldn't have believed this next thing: The Lueppens also won the museum raffle horse in 2005! From all the hundreds of tickets in the drawing bin, theirs got pulled out twice. How amazing is that?!
Congratulations to them for their second strike of lucky lightning.

Wow, that is lucky!
very lucky people! Mister looks good and it looks like they will take good care of him!
Julie, I know this out of the realm of your post, but I figure if anyone would know you would. I am wondering if there is a website to help with grieving of the loss of ones horse?
I lost my gelding of 23 years to colic a month ago and it's just tearing me up. I raised him from and orphan of 10 days, I had him all that that time. It was sudden and so devistating, basically I lost a child.
Suggestions would be helpful. Thanks
Kathy,
My condolences over the loss of your horse. The grieving process for a beloved horse can be hard to get through...as I can attest.
Though not specifically horse related, www.petloss.com has been helpful to me and others in the past. I believe there are also some horse-specific sites, but don't know their names off the top of my head. Google could help with that, I'm sure.
Wow - that is lucky! I've never won anything worth a value of over $10 in my life!
Good for them - I hope they enjoy their new horse!
How's the one from '05? Hope he's happy in his new home! Some people have all the luck!
for Kathy...try this horse loss support website....

Not sure where I found it....but I've kept the link for when my gal finally rides into the sunset.

Thank you Juli & Catherine.
The hoofbeats in heaven is a wonderful site!
Thank you all! Our '05 win came as a shock because I had forgotten about the raffle. He, Meins, as we call him, is doing quite welland have gone camping and lots of riding. He has filled out nicely and can be a real ham when he choses. This year's raffle was was......weird? People joked about me getting this horse because it is another gelging and I even avoided the phone that Friday 'cause I just knew. But I'm very happy we won Paha, who, by the way, is Meins' half brotherso I'm sure he will have the same easygoing temproment.
