If This Doesn't Beat All: Snow on June 10

As some of you swelter today through triple-digit heat, and others of you battle floodwaters, or keep an ear tuned for tornado sirens, here's what's up in the world of weather for the Idaho panhandle on June 10, 2008:

It's snowing. Hard. And sticking. To the astonishment of humans and horses alike.

Gee...why did I bother to plant tomatoes?

On the plus side. We are really getting our money's worth from our stash of winter horse blankets!

Wow - snow in June? I live in Canada and I've never seen that!

For the record, I would like to note that where I live in Canada, it is NOT snowing and it is currently 98 degrees with the humidity!

WOW! Funny, just the other night at the restaurant a customer's son was complaining about playing ball in the rain. When I said "at least its not snow!" He (the kid) said "its JUNE. Of course there's no snow!"
Wish I knew who they were so I could point them to your website. lol

I watched news coverage of WI floods with great sadness yesterday as people in my home state lost their homes, floating down the WI river. I live in CA now and was thinking of my friends on the east coast last night, probably trying to sleep in the sweltering heat while I enjoyed a typical cool CA evening. No matter how hot the days are here, our nights are always cool. Ahhhh . . .

Oh wow!

I'll be in the PNW in July... wouldn't it be neat if it snowed then!!

Seeing the esnow on the ground makes me jealous- that day us folks were sizzling with temps in the high 90s!

Yes we got snow in Clayton as well - I was not happy that day. Went to work in a bad mood, as if being angry at the weather is going to help anything.

We put the tomatoes in the ground this weekend after the show. Have been sheltering them there since I bought them in May.

I highly doubt I will get anything off them this year, but maybe I will.
