Horse Fighting in the Philippines
Once again, horse fighting festivals in the Philippines are making the news. If you think you can stand it, please read this article from a British reporter. Many people in America are not aware of this gruesome "sport" in which (according to reporters) the defeated horses end up on the barbecue for the crowd's dining pleasure and the tethered teaser mare is bred (repeatedly, to the crowd's delight, according to this reporter) by the victorious stallions in each round of fighting.
This article may be too graphic, gruesome and horrifying for many readers. For others, it may be a wake-up call. Do you think that any of these Filipino fight horses would care to trade places with an "abused" carriage horse on New York's Central Park?

Very sad to see. Several questions: these are mature stallions, so are they raised for this terrible purpose? Are the revenues associated with this "sport" sufficient to cover the costs of raising a young horse and then subjecting him to this fate? If so, then it would seem there's a whole industry associated with this. Hope the government and negative publicity shut it down soon.
It is almost as upsetting as recent reports that some former PMU breeders are now raising horse for meat (particularly sad for me as my show horse in NRHA reining came from PMU farm).
Absolutely sickening!
THIS IS TERRIBLE! AS SOON AS I HEARD THAT THEY ATE THE HORSES.... I STARTED BAWLING! I HATE PEOPLE WHO DO THAT! IT IS EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh yea, eating cows and chickens are WAY BETTER... THEY DON'T HURT AT ALL!

this is an outrage it is just disgusting but if u r going to eat horses which is just as wrong as any other creature including cows and chickens. don't make 2 horses fight like gladiators, kill them with a common sense not duel for there life.
